 My Dear Brothers and Sisters:
During the nearly four years that I have been
privileged to serve as Archbishop, I have been truly
amazed and gratified by the generous response from our
Catholic family to the Annual Appeal. Last year more
than 23,500 people stepped out in faith, answering the
call to greater stewardship, having contributed a record
$3,365,483! This unprecedented generosity stands as a
long-lasting testament to your commitment to this most
important campaign. Although we have accomplished much
good through your loving gifts, more remains to be done.
Your contributions will give hope to many who find
themselves at a critical moment in their lives. In St.
Paul's Letter to the Romans, he proclaimed, ". ..in hope
we are saved.. ." (Rom 8:24). Together, clergy and
laity, we must continue to deliver the gift of hope to
those among us who are spiritually, materially, and
educationally in need.
