Brief Biographical Sketch: Jim was born in Albany, Oregon, the third of five siblings. He lived in Oregon until he joined the Air Force at the age of 18. During the 22 years he was in the Air Force, he lived in several countries and many states. Carol and Jim met while working in an Air Force hospital near Spokane, Washington. They were married in a Presbyterian Church and then left for Japan where they spent three years touring the orient. Carol is a life-long Catholic who inspired Jim to convert to Catholicism in 1978. They have been married for 31 years. Jim has a bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management from Texas State University and a master’s degree in Computer Resource and Information Management from Webster University. He currently works as an Application Support Manager, working with commercial companies and federal agencies as a consultant, database administrator, systems analyst and software programmer. Jim attended his first ACTS retreat in 1995 and has since been on several local and ACTS Missions teams. Jim and Carol enjoy traveling and have visited every state, including Alaska and Hawaii, (except one) and have visited several countries.
