Registration
Registration Procedures
The philosophy upon which the registration regulations are based is intended to further
the Mission of the CYO. The intent is to give young people an opportunity to
experience community, as revealed in the experience of a team. Although the core
team may remain stable for some years as the children grow, the team always incorporates
newer members, who refreshes the team/community and prevent it from
becoming too exclusive. A commitment to this experience rather than winning-at-all
cost is central to the CYO philosophy, and hence, CYO opposes the stacking of
teams for the purposes of overemphasizing competition.
Parochial sponsored Athletic programs will register participation according to the
following rules:
- Registration cards to be filled out in full and signed by parent or guardian.
- Registration cards must be Signed by Registrar and Parish priest.
- Registration opening and closing dates will be mandated by the CYO OFFICE
- Registration will take place at the parish following player eligibility Guidelines.
- Registration will be open to all eligible players.
- All Registrars are to follow the
Age Division Chart given to them by The CYO office.
- Player(s) that do not live in your parish or do not fall under the active member expectation must first attempt to register at their perspective parish and then go to the zone for placement. Where a
Zone Release form is needed .
- If a player does not live within the parish Boundary and is an active Member of the parish a
Parishioner Release form is needed.
Once all the above is completed the Registrar will verify age and place all children possible on an official
CYO Roster, by following Registration guidelines.
* All Rosters are due to the Archdiocese 24 hours before League play begins.
